Salvos Stores are once again collaborating with fashion design
students to present Recreate
08 which is the culmination of many months of hard
work undertaken by the fashion design students whose brief has
been to build a fashion ‘collection’ from items
reclaimed at Salvos Stores. The collections on parade at Recreate
08 will offer a fresh outlook from some of Australia’s
up and coming design talent, taking in the broadest possible
reflection of the creative spectrum from the whimsical with
‘Venice Carnival’ and ‘Over the Rainbow’
through to industrial with ‘Vixen or Machine’. The
collections are an amalgamation of individual entries and collaborations,
with a panel of experts that Salvos Stores have put together,
helping the students to bring their designs to fruition and
provide mentoring and guidance throughout the Recreate 08 process.
Over 400 guests will attend the show where the city's top models
(styled by Mark Wasiak) will showcase students' work. Email
